L3 Integration
AS91579
Apply integration methods in solving problems
AS91579 is the integration exam in Level 3 Calculus. It covers integrating powers, exponentials, trig functions and simple fractions (dividing first, or recognising a log), trig identities and the product formulae, definite integrals, areas, kinematics, the trapezium and Simpson’s rules, and solving differential equations, which have made up about a quarter of all exam question parts since 2013. Integration by parts and partial fractions are not on NZQA’s list of methods for this standard, and no paper from 2013 to 2025 needed either.
